The Renfrew Center Honored with Proclamation

The City of Coconut Creek, Florida has honored The Renfrew Center with a Proclamation to recognize its invaluable programs and services in the Coconut Creek area as well as the other facilities nationwide. The Proclamation was presented to Sam Menaged, JD, Founder and President of The Renfrew Center on April 22nd at the City Commission meeting, declaring April 23, 2010 as “The Renfrew Center Day.”

Mayor Lisa Aronson appeared at The Renfrew Center’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Event to read the proclamation to the crowd.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, with the opening of The Renfrew Center of Philadelphia in 1985, it became, and continues to be, the pioneer residential facility for the treatment of women with eating disorders; and

WHEREAS, in 1990, Renfrew opened its second residential facility in Coconut Creek and also began the development of its nationwide network of psychotherapists and nutritionists who share the Renfrew philosophy and approach; and

WHEREAS, more than 55,000 women have received individualized treatment provided by The Renfrew Centers at its various locations; and

WHEREAS, Renfrew’s training programs have reached over 20,000 healthcare professionals and are designed to enhance the knowledge and skills needed to treat these complex disorders; and

WHEREAS, The Renfrew Center offers a comprehensive approach to mental health issues, and its treatment programs respect each woman’s individuality while encouraging participation in one’s own growth and recovery; and

WHEREAS, with celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the City Commission wishes to recognize and honor The Renfrew Center for the invaluable programs and services in its Coconut Creek facility as well as all of The Renfrew Centers;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of Coconut Creek, Florida, declares Friday, April 23, 2010, as

“THE RENFREW CENTER DAY”

in the City of Coconut Creek
