New Facility in Connecticut

The Renfrew Center, the nation’s first eating disorder facility and largest treatment network since 1985, announces the move of The Renfrew Center of Connecticut to Old Greenwich, CT. As of Monday, June 28, 2010, the new site, which specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and related mental illnesses, will resume programming previously held at its former location in Wilton. The move was prompted by an increased demand for services.
The Renfrew Center of Connecticut is now located on 1445 E. Putnam Avenue, conveniently just off exit 5 of I-95. This larger, state-of-the-art facility provides more space for patients and allows Renfrew to serve a greater number of those in need.
“I founded Renfrew 25 years ago with the mission of creating a safe, supportive and healing environment where women feel empowered to learn the skills to recover from eating disorders and create meaningful, satisfying lives,” says Samuel E. Menaged, JD, President and CEO of The Renfrew Centers. “Today, as we move into our newest location, I hope it will be a safe haven for those in Old Greenwich and the surrounding areas who are struggling.”
The Renfrew Center of Connecticut continues to offer the same full spectrum of nonresidential services to women ages 14 and above including a Day Treatment Program, an Intensive Outpatient Program, support groups, individual, family and couples therapy, and nutritional and psychiatric consultation. The variety of programming allows treatment to be tailored to an individual’s needs and provides for a gradual step-back into everyday life.

The Renfrew Center has helped more than 55,000 women with eating disorders and other behavioral health issues. The treatment philosophy emphasizes a respect for the unique psychology of women, the importance of a collaborative therapeutic relationship, and the belief that every woman needs to actively participate in her own recovery. The Renfrew Center has facilities in Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas.
