The Renfrew Center Celebrates 25 Years
Past, Present and Future

The Renfrew Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary as the country’s first residential eating disorder facility and largest treatment network.

On April 23, 2010 The Renfrew Center of Florida hosted the first of many events to celebrate this milestone. Past and present employees were joined by professionals from the local community to commemorate Renfrew’s presence in the field of eating disorders over the past 25 years.

Among those in attendance was Mayor Lisa Aronson. On behalf of the city of Coconut Creek, Florida, Mayor Aronson honored The Renfrew Center with a proclamation to recognize its invaluable programs and services, declaring April 23, 2010 “The Renfrew Center Day.”

The event’s program featured speeches from Sam Menaged, JD, Founder and President of The Renfrew Center, Gayle Brooks, PhD, Vice President and Clinical Director for The Renfrew Center of Florida, and a former patient of The Renfrew Center, followed by a presentation of patient artwork by Karen Polin, BFA, ATR, Creative Arts Therapist for The Renfrew Center of Florida. Wrapping up an outstanding evening, Mr. Menaged planted a tree to symbolize Renfrew’s hopes for another 25 years of success.

The Renfrew Center will be hosting many more events throughout the year at each of its locations to celebrate this milestone. Details will be available as each event approaches.
