This workshop explores specific interventions that strengthen the therapeutic alliance. Interactive aspects of the therapy alliance are highlighted and concepts of tact, timing, and dosage are discussed as they inform interventions in eating disorder treatment. Finding the Right Fit: Negotiating the Spectrum of Eating Disorder Treatment
Working with those struggling with an eating disorder can be both challenging and daunting. Assessing the severity of the eating disorder symptomatology is often not an easy task due to the secrecy of eating disorder behaviors, denial and low motivation. Determining appropriate level of care can also be difficult to evaluate clients with eating disorders often need various types of treatment during different periods of their eating disorder struggle. This webinar will assist professionals with understanding the components of a comprehensive and on-going assessment when working with complex, compromised eating disorder patients throughout the duration of their recovery. Levels of care in treatment will be discussed which will include making appropriate treatment recommendations based on a patient's symptom presentation. A case example will be included which will illustrate the intricacies of eating disorder assessment and treatment recommendations.
