Extended Care Program
The Renfrew Center’s Extended Care Program will support, challenge, and encourage individuals who are recovering from eating disorders, living in community with each other, to reclaim their lives and re-enter life outside of treatment. The program is located in "Renfrew House," a brand new facility built on our current Philadelphia campus.
Extended Care is a step-down program for individuals 18 and over who have previously completed an intensive treatment program and who have access to their own transportation.
Those who would benefit most from the program include individuals who:
- Desire a recovering community of peers for support
- Need to relearn or master life skills
- Want mealtime support and challenge in a safe, home-like setting
- Would benefit from an alternate living situation to further enhance recovery
It offers a supportive, peaceful environment in a home-like atmosphere with comfortable furniture and kitchen facilities. The goal of the program is to approximate real-life conditions so that participants can become fully independent.
Core components of the Extended Care Program include:
- Career & school counseling
- Financial counseling
- Off-site outings
- Weekly speakers
- Exercise groups
- Meditation
- Life Skills groups
- Meal planning & preparation
- Volunteer opportunities
- Relocation assistance
