Eating Disorder Treatment
In order to tailor our eating disorder treatment programs to the
needs of each of our clients, The Renfrew
Center offers a comprehensive range of services. After a preliminary
interview, we work with each client and her referring therapist
to develop eating disorder treatment plans and goals based on her
unique situation.
We also work to facilitate timely transitions to less intensive
levels of eating disorder care, thereby maximizing the client's
insurance benefits. Continuity in philosophy and approach is maintained
throughout the individual's eating disorder treatment.
Outpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Services
Most clients access one or more of our Outpatient
Eating Disorder Treatment Services, including individual, family,
or nutrition therapy; psychiatric consultation; and art or group
sessions, as needed.
Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Program
For adolescents and women still able to attend school or work,
our Intensive Outpatient Eating
Disorder Treatment Program, which provides Mealtime Support
Therapy, is offered three times a week in three- to four-hour sessions
at most Renfrew locations.
Day Eating Disorder Treatment Program
Our Day Eating Disorder Treatment Program
is designed for adolescents and women leaving inpatient or residential
care or those not requiring residential eating disorder treatment.
It includes numerous groups and Mealtime Support Therapy.
Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Program
Our Residential Eating Disorder Treatment
Program is our most comprehensive and intensive program and
is offered in Philadelphia and Coconut Creek, Florida. Residential
eating disorder treatment at Renfrew provides an intensive and comprehensive
program of individual, group, and family therapy.
Transitional Living Eating Disorder Treatment Program
The Renfrew Center's Transitional
Living Eating Disorder Treatment Program offers room and meals
within the residence building for those adolescents and women participating
in Day Eating Disorder Treatment. It is designed for those who cannot
commute from home to a Renfrew location on a daily basis and who
do not require full residential eating disorder treatment.
